Welcome to Alumbra!

In Spanish “Alumbrar” means to give birth or to illuminate.

My Wish:

To shine a light on your birth experience; that you feel safe to explore and surrender to your own birth process.

My promise:

To hold non-judgmental space, provide compassionate support, teach evidence-based education and give you the power of choice to bring ownership back to your body.

Preparing for birth can be fun, empowering, and intentional!

Why Hire a Doula?

Extensive research shows that having continuous labor support can increase self-esteem while decreasing pain and anxiety. Which translates into shorter labors, decrease of epidurals or use of external interventions, decrease in cesarean rates, better infant outcomes, and overall higher satisfaction.

Infographic showing statistics on childbirth experiences. It includes a 10% decrease in pain medication use, 15% increase in spontaneous vaginal births, 31% decrease in Pitocin use, 38% decrease in low APGAR scores, 34% decrease in negative birth experiences with higher breastfeeding rates, 39% fewer cesareans, and labor being 41 minutes shorter. Various illustrations accompany each statistic.
